I didn't understand how difficult realty is until I listed my home for-sale-by-owner on Zillow. Quickly I realized that realtors do much, much more than just write witty descriptions, load photos into listings, and meet folks at your house. Real estate is a complicated legal negotiation; and with all legal matters the party with the best counsel gets the best deal. I interviewed seven real estate agents in Mariposa in May 2020 (someone from every office in town). Mia Gloor is head-and-shoulders above the others. She is proactive in making sure there is constant communication, diligent in digging out all the little details that make the process go smooth, professional in every way, and just an awesome person to work with - you really feel her enthusiasm every time you talk. Mia easily got me 20k-25k more for my house than I expected!.... One experience really stands out for me: When I tried to sell my house myself, after interviewing the realtors, I contacted each of them to let them know that I was going to try and list it myself first. I let them know that I would pay the buyer's commission if they brought a buyer, which they had all assured me they had many as the foothills area is hot right now. In the two weeks I listed my house Mia was the only person to show it. She showed it eight times! I mentioned to her that the other realtors hadn't brought anyone to see the house and she was her uber professional self, saying how she didn't know what others were doing but if she knew of a house for sale she was going to try and get it for her clients, whether it was her listing or not.
