OUR STORY

Edmonson Electric was founded by William "Bill" H. Edmonson Sr. after serving in the air-conditioning market in the Tampa Bay area for over a decade. When the business first was established, Edmonson concentrated on electrical contracting. After just a few years, the company grew and became known for its excellent service, quality products, and determined sales effort. Simultaneously, the Edmonson family grew as well. Soon, more family members joined the business. Terry, Kevin, Michele, and Bill Jr. began to manage day-to-day operations.

As the Florida residential development and building industry continued to evolve, the need for electrical contracting services expanded. Now, Edmonson Electric serves communities in Central and South Florida with offices in Tampa, Kissimmee, Brandon, Venice, Vero Beach, and Fort Myers.

Called Edmonson Electric for service for a faulty circuit breaker as they were the installer of the electric in our 2 year old townhouse. They advised they would not be able to come out for 2 weeks, as it was only kitchen and garage lights we agreed. When the day of the scheduled service arrived I called to make sure they would be out. I was assured that they would. Appointment was scheduled for between 8am and noon, when 12:30 arrived and we Thad not heard anything I called again and they assured me they would look into it. I heard nothing by 2:30 pm and called again and I was told they could not get in touch with the tech and they were still working on it. I heard nothing again by 3:30 as their office closed at 4:00 I called again. Was told they had no idea what had happened and asked if I wanted to reschedule, I advised them I would not reschedule as this was 3 days before Christmas and had parties scheduled and needed the lights now. We called another electrical company that came out the next day and completed the job quickly. As a result of our negative response to our problem I would not recommend Edmonson Electric to anyone.

I worked for this company for 3 weeks, I was told I was great, doing an amazing job etc. Then today I get a call from their hire agency they use that I was fired because I’m a mother and my child was sick. My husband is deployed military and I’m by myself. This company gave little to no reason and cuts ties for honestly the wrong reasons. This review is for HR and the office management team because y’all need to do better!! I was told the older generation wasn’t good enough but it seems the younger generations isn’t either. If you’d like to improve your company start with them.

They were hired to replace or repair an electrical panel on a fire hazard recall. Appointment weeks out. Day comes with a 4 hour window. No one shows. No one calls. Left message. No response. Wildly unprofessional especially when you plan around it.

the most unprofessional electrical company here. bought a new home and they didnt secure the outlet boxes to studs or the drywall so we let them know. their electrician came out and confirmed they did a poor job and didnt secure any of the boxes but they would have to cut drywall and reinstall all the switches/boxes so he was unable to do it that day but would let his supervisors know so they can schedule with more time. this was many months ago and no one came back until today, almost 1 year after i received my new home. after we made the initial claim we changed the switches to smart switches and now that they came back almost a year after they are saying its not their problem anymore since i put in new switches even thought their boxes are loose/broken to begin with and i waited over 9 months for them to secure and fix before i put in my smart switches. Paul, not only did he refuse to do any work after he admitted they did it wrong in the first place but he just put the first box back broken and loose and just said he wasn't going to fix it and no longer his problem. the laziness and lack of commitment/responsibility was unbelievable. not to mention i was nice when he pulled up to my house and ran over my garbage can on the side of the road just to find out he would be lazy and just flat out didnt care to fix anything or do any work. stay away from them if possible.

Yvette, on the customer service line was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of! I was having issues with a few of my electrical breakers, and she is getting someone to come out ASAP!! And she told me about the warranty I have with the old breakers so if this happens again I will already have breakers for the electrician and won’t cost as much! Reall glad I got Yvette on the phone! She was a real joy and put a smile on my face! Great energy through the phone!
