Buying a house is an incredibly stressful, emotional, and psychological process; that’s why I feel so lucky we were referred to Alex and his team at Alamere. Moving to Marin from Southern California and trying to get a feel for Marin real estate was completely overwhelming until we met Alex! He was able to talk us through our concerns and set reasonable expectations while also giving us hope that we would find our dream home (spoiler alert - we did!) he spent a massive amount of his time with us communicating through email, text, and phone calls and was incredibly responsive even before we were sure where or when we wanted to buy. Alex had a huge breadth of knowledge of the current state of the market AND the area, down to the bike trails near every house we looked at and every local school and restaurant. Most importantly, he really got to know us as a family and understood what we were looking for - so that when the right house became available he was on it! Alex likely spent 12 hours on “offer” day fighting for us to get our dream home, explaining every step of the process thoroughly and patiently. Throughout escrow he continued to be available, taking us through each step until closing. The whole experience with Alex was a breath of fresh air in an intense market and during what should’ve been an extremely stressful process. I cannot recommend him or his team highly enough. If the prospect of selling or buying comes up in our future, it’s a comfort knowing we will have Alex at the helm again!

My husband and I worked with Alex to find our new home in Marin after moving back from the UK in one of the most competitive markets ever. We were intimidated and, as first time home buyers who’d been away from the Bay Area for several years with a baby on the way, were very unsure of where to live and how to go about being competitive with our budget. Alex consistently sent us homes he knew would suit us, was very proactive, and was very patient with us as we tried to discern which places were worth making offers on. When we walked into the home we knew we really wanted to go for, Alex guided us step-by-step and his intelligence in the bidding and negotiation process is what helped us get the house we wanted with a competitive offer that was the right price for us. My wife and I were doing market research and going to Open Houses for the better part of the last year as we were getting ready to buy our first home. We interacted with several agents during this time, but never felt compelled to follow up with anyone. We met Alex during an Open House he was hosting and we knew he was our guy immediately. He was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Very polite, honest and not too pushy. As soon as we realized the time was right, we gave him a call and worked with him to find the right home for us. We discussed at length what we were looking for, things that were important to us and less important as well as our budget parameters. He helped us focus on a few neighborhoods given the parameters we discussed, and was super responsive to arrange tours for homes, including multiple tours for homes we liked. When we were considering making an offer, Alex’s expertise helped us navigate disclosures and things to look out for, and he was there for every step of the process to answer any questions we had. As first time home buyers, he was extra informative on the types of things that should be concerning (or not) and the ballpark costs for a variety of fixes. He also helped us find the right lender and we were very happy with the entire process and the rate we got. A couple weeks into our search, we found a house we fell in love with but was a bit outside of our budget. The market had slowed down in the last couple of months and this house was on the market for about 40 days. We discussed with Alex about an offer we would be comfortable with, and our concerns to ensure we didn’t offend the sellers. He reassured us that wouldn't be the case and thought it was a reasonable offer given the circumstances, so we decided to move forward. He did an excellent job during the negotiation phase thinking outside of the box for concessions that kept us within our budget constraints, and after a couple of back and forths we came up with a deal that made both us and the sellers happy. We will enthusiastically recommend Alex to all of our friends and family in the future!

Our experience with Alex was a 5 star treatment the entire process. We were referred to Alex by a friend of ours and we couldn't have been happier with all the work he put in for us. We were out of town buyers, so the communication and organization he was able to provide for us was crucial during our 2 day visit to town to see properties. During the 2 days, Alex was able to show us 7 houses (2 of which were not viewing yet but he leveraged his relationships to get us in early) and gave us expert advice about the properties and areas associated with them. He let us have our own experience in the houses, which we loved, and offered guidance where needed. When we decided we found the one, he was able to direct us on an appropriate early offer, draw up the offer in less than 10 hours, and land us the house of our dreams!
