I have lived in Big Bear for most of my life, going through all of my schooling years here in this beautiful valley. I have been married 37 years and have raised three children, and have 4 grandsons .  I am familiar and knowledgeable with the entire Bear Valley area.  I started in insurance, and moved into real estate. I have been involved with many community activities throughout my residency here including Dawnbuster Rotary, Soroptimist's of Big Bear and I am currently serving on the Big Bear Board of Realtors.  I've worked with Habitat for Humanity.  I have hosted several foreign exchange students from time to time, worked with the children of  Big Bear in many ways and support our local schools with on and off school activities. Staying current and up to date with continuing education is a must, and being certified through the Career Compass, my classes are always current. Hiring someone that is familiar and confident in the knowledge of the area is what you should be looking for.  My goal is to make sure you never feel you hired the wrong Realtor.  Ask for references, I will be happy to supply you with them from past clients.I would love if I can help you sell or buy in this beautiful valley. My wife and I purchased our home through Alaine in Big Bear Lake. She was extremely patient showing us many homes until we found the perfect one. She walked us through all the paperwork and was very knowledgeable in setting up inspections and finalizing the sale. We needed to sell some property after a family member passed away. Sine we do not live in Big Bear we decided to take a drive and find a realtor who can help. After driving around and having some lunch (i mean hey why not make a mini daycation out of it...?? ) We decided to just pick a realtors office and walked in. Alaine saw me right away and was very nice, helpful and upbeat.( First impressions are what usually seals the deal) . This was all a learning experience for us all and Alaine was always on top of it. Once probate allowed us to sell within 2 days we had both lots sold. Alaine always was there for any questions we had and always called, emailed,texted us with any updates. If life brings us back into the Big Bear area we will definitely be working with Alaine again!

Alaine "Karen" Uthus was completely rude, disrespectful and aggressive in cutting in the drive thru line at the Taco Bell. She was so aggressive we were expecting her to pull out her pistol and hit our car. Note: don't advertise your business on your license plate if you are going to be hostile to random strangers. Kids in both cars.
